Auckland: Whale & Dolphin Safari (with video)

One thing I was absolutely happy I did was to go on a whale and dolphin safari in Auckland. Auckland, as a city, I'm sorry to say, is not that interesting  a place. But the activities and wildlife accessible from it is truly one of a kind in the world.

After hours at sea, at last... someone spots a whale blow!

Thar she blooowwss!

At best guess, we spotted a Bryck Whale

I developed considerable respect for the ability of the safari boat operators to spot a tiny black fin in an infinite sea.

Should you lose your hat, it will be retrieved providing it's a a NEW ZEALAND or ALL BLACKS hat.
And then the real showmen turned up. However common the Common Dolphin may be to spot on these trips (they actually LIKE playing with the boat), they are endlessly charming.

I even took a video, be patient the dolphins show up towards the end of the video. Filled with joy in the speed and grace of their movements.
