Sunnies

Initial plans of splurging on original Ray Ban Wayfarers were squelched by the simple fact that Malaysian stores don't carry much stock for them. If they were the right colour, they were way too big or too round. if they were the right shape, they were blue, red or white. Argh! All efforts by salesmen to coax me into buying something else failed miserably. If I'm going to spend over RM500 on a pair of sunglasses they are going to be PRECISELY the ones I want AND they're going to be the ones from Breaksfast At Tiffany's dammit!

So I went prowling the cheapie sunnies scene and to my delight, Ray Ban Wayfarer's recent resurgence in popularity means there were fake Wayfarers galore! I initially bought two for RM30, one black one tortoiseshell at Brands Outlet for RM30. They were a little big but I thought, what the hey.

Then a week later I wandered into Cotton On and THEY had a pair and it fit perfectly. Plus, Cotton On's sunnies are vetted by the Australian Cancer Board and have certified UV Protection. Uhh Brands Outlet ones have no certification. The sunnies were RM39.90 for one, RM50 for two. So of COURSE I picked up another pair.

Aviators are another Ray Ban classic. I'm still on the fence about wearing these, but they were a whimsical purchase. =P

Bless Daiso for supplying cute spectacle cases for RM5 so I can tote it around in my handbag. ;)
