It has taken me next to forever to find a Cheongsam that fits me and doesn't cost the earth. Most of the generic ones you see in stores are tight around my hips but far far too big around the waist. Plus you look like a waitress from the Tai Tong Group of restaurants.
There's a certain delicious irony in finding this one on the RM10 rack of my favourite thrift store after all these years.
I love the light cotton and the green and blue flower pattern. I simply could not get the camera to take better shots - the sun was just too bright. But it looks fresh, modern and isn't old-fashioned.
And while we're on this post, Happy Chinese New Year! I'm going to be taking an extended break in New Zealand in a few days and I just can't WAIT. I'm also rewarding myself with a hiatus from blogging and well, writing in general, so I'll see you girls again on the 21st of Feb. Will have plenty of photos from NZ I hope!
Dress: Chia's Thrift Store, Level 2, Amcorp Mall (RM10)
