My first love

I was digging through my collection of photos (as one does), and found this old pic, and had a giggle. After the sniggering fit, I thought back fondly on The One That Got Away--this little black dress from Esprit.

This shot harked back to the days of my internship at Seventeen Magazine Malaysia after I finished my fifth form (I think!). It was so much fun I went back for more during my college break.

The perils of being the intern, however, is when one of your models backs out from a shoot, you are the fallback stand-in. But being one of my first times in front of the camera as--dare I say it--a model, it was still all new and fun for me!

Anyhow, this shoot was for a fashion-and-makeup advertorial booklet. The clothes were all from Esprit--I remember following the fashion writer for clothes sourcing (basically going to an outlet, going mad and grabbing all sorts of awesome clothes that would fit a shoot's theme, and then heading back to the office to spend the next two days ironing, phew!) and thinking it was every fashion-loving girl's dream come true.

The gorgeous black dress I was assigned to for my 'night' shoot was possibly the first LBD I really fell in love with. I'm not normally a fan of Esprit (I think a lot of the stuff is overpriced, and a touch boring), but I really loved this one. The neckline wasn't too low, and it wasn't too short either. You can't see it here, but it had a really cute, swingy skirt--it was more fun than sexy, which was what I liked most!

Unfortunately, the price tag (RM300+) was entirely too much for my poor intern's budget. Looking back now, I don't know if I'd buy it even though I can probably afford it now--but back then, it was indeed, love.

Do you girls remember your first love?

Wah, MNTM!

Although, I think you're so much prettier in your non-model pics. This pic looks flawless but it looks like they made you 10 shades lighter and then pinker! Lol.

I like tan Meldee with eyeliner and ready to go! <3
